What Syndication Breakdown collects, why, on what legal basis, who processes it, and the rights you have over it.

Who is responsible¶
The controller of any personal data processed through this site is Nil Masferrer Jiménez, an individual publisher in Spain, reachable at editor@syndicationbreakdown.com.
The postal address is not published here. This is a one-person publication written from a home, and publishing a residential address alongside a public email invites a category of problem that no reader benefits from. It is disclosed on request to a competent supervisory or judicial authority, and to anyone who demonstrates a legitimate interest in receiving it — write to the address above. The country is published because the country determines the applicable law and the competent authority; a country is a jurisdiction, a street is a doorstep.
Because the controller is established in Spain, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to this processing regardless of where you read from, and the Spanish supervisory authority is the competent one. If you are in the United States, the state-law section below also applies.
What is collected¶
If you only read the site: nothing that identifies you. No account, no registration, no newsletter, no form. This is a static site: the pages are files, and reading one does not create a record here.
Server logs. The site is served from Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, the infrastructure processes the technical information inherent to delivering a page — the requesting IP address, the time, the file requested, the user agent — for security, abuse prevention and reliability. These logs are held by the hosting provider under its own retention rules and are not used to build a profile of you.
Consent and preference storage. Your consent choice and your theme preference are stored in your browser. They never reach a server. See the cookie policy.
Analytics, only if you accept. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 collects aggregate usage data. It is not enabled unless and until you accept, and it is not currently configured at all.
Advertising, only if you accept. Once advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure advertising. Nothing is loaded before consent. See the advertising disclosure.
Email you send. If you write, I receive your address and whatever you put in the message. It is used to reply and for nothing else. It is not added to any list, because there is no list.

Who processes data¶
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting and content delivery for this site.
- Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited — analytics and advertising, only after consent.
Both are United States companies and transfers outside the European Economic Area may occur, made under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
No personal data is sold, and none is shared with any sponsor, fund, platform or anyone in the real estate industry. There is no such relationship to share it through.
Retention¶
Server logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own schedule. Consent and preference storage sits in your browser until you clear it. Email is kept while there is a reason to keep it and then deleted.
Your rights¶
Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. Write to editor@syndicationbreakdown.com.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, in Spain the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Realistically, if you have only read the site there is very little to exercise these rights against, because there is very little held.
US State Privacy¶
If you are in the United States, state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and the comparable laws of other states — give you rights over personal information collected about you.
No sale of personal information for money. Nothing on this site is sold in the ordinary sense. However, the use of advertising cookies can constitute a "sale" or a "share" for cross-context behavioral advertising under some of these laws, and this policy treats it as though it does.
How to opt out. Two routes, both effective:
- Choose Reject non-essential in the consent banner, or reopen it from Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Non-essential storage then stays denied.
- Send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser or an extension. This site reads that signal on every page. When it is present, non-essential storage is denied, advertising and analytics consent are never granted, and the banner is not shown at all — you have already answered, and asking again would be the site ignoring you.
Your other state-law rights — to know what is collected, to access, to delete, to correct, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them — are exercised through the same address: editor@syndicationbreakdown.com. There is no financial incentive program on this site, and no different service for readers who opt out. Rejecting personalized advertising does not remove advertising; it makes it contextual.
Sensitive personal information is not collected, and no personal information is knowingly collected from children.
Changes¶
Material changes to this policy are reflected in the revision date at the top. Where a change concerns advertising or analytics, it is made before the change takes effect, not after.
